Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Virginia
Witness & Notary Public on Will
Hello.
In Virginia if I have a notary public attesting to my signature do I still
have to have 2 witnesses?
Do I need the Self Affirming Affidavit?

Re: Witness & Notary Public on Will
If you're referring to witnesses to a will, the answwer is yes; the mere signature of the notary would not be sufficient. If it's a so-called holographic will(written out in hand of testator with no witnesses), yes, the Self-Affirming Affidavit would be necessary.
