Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

Still in the dark....

I had a accident at work which injured my shoulder on 1-14-2008. On 1-15-2008 I was seen by the Clinic My company told me to see. I was diagnosed with R. shoulder adhesive capulitis. I was referred for physical therapy on the 18th. No one has called me with any information. When I saw the Doctor on the 25th, he asked was I in phy. therapy. I told him what was happening. He called my workplace to get some answers. He was placed on hold and I called back later. He told me he could not get any answers either. Each time I call my job, '' the paperwork is being handled in the front office''. When I call HR, which is out of state, the only number my work had was a 700# which can only be called at the store, can't get much done. I am a diabetic and between the pain & being fustrated, my sugars & BP are up. I've file a claim online and want to know should i talk with an attorney, i am lost on what more to do.

Re: Still in the dark....

I understand you had an accident at work on 1-14-2008 injuring your shoulder. I understand you have filed a claim with the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission. You may want to contact the ombudsman office at the Commission to see if they can make some phone calls and expedite your medical service. The Commission will be sending your Employer a 20 day Notice asking if they will accept your claim. Unfortunately, this does take time so the ombudsman office at the Commission is your best bet to get this expedited.
