Can a dr. charge an insurance co. intrest on overdue bills?
Can a doctor charge an insurance company (representing the employer)intrest on overdue bills? The insurance co. stopped paying 7 years ago, without notice or explanation, and didn't respond to any inquiries about these bills. Interest has accrued over the years. Are they liable for the interest?

Re: Can a dr. charge an insurance co. intrest on overdue bills?
More facts are needed in order to answer your question, such as whom is the doctor now looking to, to take care of the bills, notwithstanding the interest owed on them, the insurance carrier(if they still exist)or the employer? It would appear that any interest owed on the bills would be a strictly secondary matter at this point.
