Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

eligibility

My employer is not requiring that all Store managers and assistant managers clock out if they leave the worksite to perform off-cite job requirements, ie. making or picking up bank deposits, purchasing supplies, making home visits to customers homes, etc. My question: If i am injured while ''off-the-clock'' performing company business, are we covered by worker's compensation?

Re: eligibility

Yes, you are, as long as the task which you are performing is deemed "within the scope of your employment."

Re: eligibility

The Virginia Workers Compensation policy is that if you are doing some type of work in furtherance of your employer's interest then you are covered. Of course, there may be proof problems if you are not on the clock.
