Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

employer bypassing WC

I fear that by my employer bypassing his workers comp ins and paying out of his pocket for my injury, in the future I will be left with no proof I was injured on the job. Is this illegal, for him to not report my injury?

You are correct. In order to protect yourself, you should file a claim with the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission. You should file your claim within two (2) years of the date of your accident or your claim will be barred.
