Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

Major depression (stress work related)

I am a Police Officer and a co worker Police Officer who has a history of irrational, abusive behavior mad threat to go (postal) on me. I immediately reported same to my supervisor and he told me i was over reacting. I made a formal complaint and grievance and after constant slandering and four months of the complaint not dealt with i could not take it. from the time the threat was made on my life I was terrified. I am presently waiting for a hearin to be held in March. the carrier of course refused the claim. I am currently out on the va disability benefit i have short term. i have been out for. I learned they just punished him seven months after the incident. I am still out under doctors care major depression. I realize i did not go out immediately but the change happened immediately. The employer played with it stating I was over reacting ect. I uncovered many OSHA and state violations on employer. The employer had stripped me of duties for reporting the threat, I won a EDR hearing and i feel confident i will prevail there. How can I fight and win this workers comp issue. Two Doctors have document work related to the threat and the unsafe enviroment of the employer not taking action?

Re: Major depression (stress work related)

These are matters which you should take up with

counsel knowledgeable in workers'compensation

matters. Furthermore(if I were you), I would

want such counsel representing me at the EDR

hearing in March to ensure that your side of

the case is properly presented and defended,

and receives a fair hearing(and is not lightly dismissed as the mere protestations of a slightly addled, depressed, and obviously disgruntled employee).
