Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

Milage coverage

I was wondering if your milage to doctor's visits are covered by worker's comp? How is it done, what do I have to do to get it if so?

Re: Milage coverage

Dear Sir:

If you have an award of compensation from the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission this would include lifetime medical coverage for your injury. With that, you would have medical mileage coverage. As of October 1, 2005 this would be 32.5 cents a mile. Before this date it was 27 cents a mile. Provided you have an award, you submit your mileage statement: date, doctor seen, round trip mileage to your insurance company.
