who is responsible for on the job injury

my son-in-law was injuried on the job. because my daughter has insurance on him with her job his company had a lawyer write saying his company was not responsible for his hospital bills. Is this true? the bills are extensive

No, that is not correct. If your son-in-law was injured on the job, he should file a claim for workman's compensation and the insurance carrier

providing the workman's compensation coverage for your son's employer should bear the costs of his medical treatment rather than his wife's insurance carrier.
