Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

settlement amount

Dear Sir or Madam,

I was in a serious vehicle accident in Jan 2004 and hospitalized for approx. 5 weeks. This was due to my injuries which was a broken, dislocated and fractured pelvis beside my spine. The approximate medical bills will amount to $100,000. Could you please give me an idea what kind of settlement amount there will be.

Re: settlement amount

Dear Sir:

I assume your car accident was "caused" by a third party who ran into your car. Often, this type of claim depends on how much insurance the defendant has and how much you have. It also depends on other factors such as whether you have permanent injuries. If this happened while you were working, then you may have a workers comp claim. If this happened in Virginia you have 2 years to file a claim in court and 2 years to file a workers comp claim.
