I have been on W/C for over six years and ready to try to settle.My injury is permanent partial disablity and it has been rated.Will i have to pay back social secureity any money if i settle my case case with insurance?

Dear Sir:

You said you had a 6 yr old WC Injury but you did not indicate if you were currently receiving WC benefits. I assume you are and the ins co may/may not offer you a settlement. Also, if you currently are receiving both WC & SS you should know if your SS is being reduced. If you settle your WC claim, this could reduce your SS and could mean you will not receive Medicare for your injury. You must be very careful how you do a settlement that might impact your rights to SS benefits. You may wish to contact me or another experienced WC/SS attorney about this type of settlement. Be very careful.
