Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia

surgery #2

My doctor will perform surgery on my back next week and he's informed me that I will still have back pain W.C is paying for the surgery, what happens when the pain continues? why even have the procedure?

As a Virginia Workers Compensation Attorney for 35 years, I can say you only have to have the surgery if it is considerd reasonable and necessary medical care. If the insurer does not believe it is going to help you, then they would not pay for it. I am sure it has been recommended as a matter of last resort to restore some function to you. Since this type of surgery can cost in excess of $30,000 it would not be recommended if did not have some purpose. For more legal advice about your situation contact me by email or check my website.
