Workers compensation and tinnitus

I have tinnitus due to a on the job injury, and am having a hard time dealing with it. It is interfering with my focus and consentration. My physician is forcing me to work and I am concerned about making mistakes at work. What should I do?

You need to make sure that a WC award is entered for this hearing problem. You can contact the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission to find out if you have an award. Also you can check with them about filing a Claim for Benefits for this problem. If no claim is filed within two years of the date of diagnosis of this problem the claim can be lost. If you do have an award then you have lifetime med protection and you have some protection if the employer lays you off for being unable to do the job. You can file to be placed on compensation if this happens within two yrs of the date of the a diagnosis.

You can request that you be allowed to consult with another physician regarding this injury and its alleged interference with your job performance.
