Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia
Workman's Comp and my credit report
3 years ago i pulled my back at work. I filled out the paper work at the hospital and with my employer. Not long after I moved and found out 1 yr ago that it was sent to coll. I spoke to a woman at the WC and she said they couldnt send it to coll because it was a WC claim. after fighting with them i paid it but can they do this? it is still on my report and affecting everything!

Merely because you say that you "filled out the paperwork at the hospital" dosen't mean that it was actually submitted to the Worker's Compensation Commission for approval and payment of your claim.(Obviously, that apparently did not happen.)
In terms of the adverse reference in your credit report, about all you can feasibly do now, apparently, is submit a rebuttal(up to 250 words) to each credit reporting agency which displays the adverse item in your credit report.

Dear Sir:
You have two (2) years to file a claim with the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission for your injury. If your injury was three (3) years ago, then your time limit to file this may have elapsed. However, if your Employer failed to file an Accident Report with the Commission, then you may still be able to file a claim with the Commission for this bill. It does not hurt to try.
