Legal Question in Workers Comp in Virginia
Workmans Comp
I injured my back at work about a year ago and reiceived workmans comp. for six months. My case was closed after getting a cortizone shot and I was able to return to work. My shot wore off after three months and now I can't work. I am currenty waiting for my case to reopen. It has been over a month and I have no income coming in. Why is it so hard to reopen a claim when they know a cortizone shot is a tempary fix? Also how am I supposed to keep a job when I can work for about three or four months and then be out for at least two months waiting to get another shot? There has to be something else I can do! What are my options?

Re: Workmans Comp
Dear Sir:
Once you return to work, the adjuster closes your claim file. That is why it is difficult. You should file a claim with the Virginia Workers Compensation Commission and request assistance from the Commission ombudsman office. They may be able to expedite your claim.
