Re: Hotel accomidations

Hello - I specialize in discrimination, including problems such as yours. I have a client who has sued hotels and other places of public accommodation 11 times.

Please write to me and let me know your goal. Do you want them to change? Apologize? Do you want a monetary settlement?

Also, in what state do you live, and in what state did this occur?

Re: Hotel accomidations

Sorry to hear you were treated so badly. If this happened in WA you are covered by the Washington Law Against Discrimination in addition to the ADA. You may well be entitled to remedies.

WA law allows for monetary compensation when the WLAD is breached, just because it is a civil rights violation. There is a human rights commission that hears these complaints and issues findings. Those findings are a great basis for a lawsuit. They will also attempt to mediate your dispute with the hotel, but you don't have to agree with their findings, you can sue.

The statute of limitations is two years.

Starting with counsel is a good idea.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
