Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Washington
government student loans in chapter 13
I have completed a Chapter 13 and it has been discharged through the courts. I have recently received a bill from a guaranteed student loan that was listed in the orginal case. My lawyer is not returning my phone calls. This also appears on my credit report as still outstanding with a different amount owing. How do I rectify this? I have sent documents to this firm notifying them this case was discharged.

Student loan dischargeability
Your loan is probably not discharged. Generally student loans are not dischargeableunless over 7 years have elapsed (not countingdeferral periods) from the first repayment date to the date of filing the bankruptcy.
