Question after filing chapter 7

Hello i was wondering if once you have filed for chapter7, and your 7 yrs are not up yet can you file for chapter13 to pay your bills over a period of time? Thank You

Under the bankruptcy code a debtor can "convert" his or her petition from any chapter to another chapter at any time as long as they meet the definition of debtor under the chapter they are wishing to convert to. However, if your case has been done, and you were granted discharge, I'm not sure why you would want to convert it now? Usually, most individuals convert during the bankruptcy proceedings, if at all.
