im starting local tv show and i have taken on some sponsors but i dont know how to bill them

First, I would encourage you to have a standard contract that spells out what the sponsor can expect from you (e.g., no guaranteed sales, for example) and what the sponsor can expect to pay, also what will happen if the sponsor does not pay. Also, you should address what will happen if you cannot perform (for example, if your show does not run and so the commercials cannot air, what happens?)
If you have never done this before (which sounds like a possibility), you might be wise to have an attorney assist you with preparing such a boilerplate contract.
Second, once the contract sets the ground rules, bill promptly. And follow up unpaid accounts promptly.
