Legal Question in Business Law in Washington
I legally removed myself from an LLC august 2006. The contracting business is still operating. They have been renewing a bond which my name was on. I had sent the bond company notice of my departure. back in august of 2006. The company had a judgment on may 21st 2010. Now the bond company is wanting me to reimburse its loss. Am I liable ?

Any attorney will say a review of all relevant documents is required to answer your question. For example, how did you "legally" remove yourself? When did the job that resulted in a judgment take place? What kind of written agreement do you have with the bonding company and did you follow the proper protocol in notifying them in August, 2006? These kind of cases are highly fact dependent so you should consult an attorney in your area for specifics.
