Legal Question in Business Law in Washington
I recieved a settlement check and an attorney's fee check for a case settled in arbitration.
I signed the attorney's check over to the attorney in his office where it was received.
The attorney is now trying to collect one third of the total money received which includes
the attorneys fees monies. My opinion is that he should be able to collect only one third
of the settlement check that I received and not count the attorneys fees as money received
by me.What is your opionion?

Any attorney will say it depends on the terms of your written agreement with the attorney. It's not possible to give you an answer without seeing this document. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice.
