I gave notice of resignation 2 weeks ago. 3 days before my last day, the company announced the plant was closed effective immediately. Am I entitled to severance pay?

Re: severence pay entitlement
In Washington severance pay is not compulsory. Employers are not obligated to provide severance pay unless there was an agreement with the employee for such pay. If you have an employment agreement or a severance agreement with your former employer then yes you are entitled, if you don't then you are not entitled to it.
