Legal Question in Business Law in Washington
Situation:
I 3D print toys and figures. Last November, I contracted with a local shop to sell my prints in their store. The contract stipulated that we would be paid 60% of the sales from our items paid out on the 15h of the month. We were never paid and went months at a time without hearing from the shop owner. On June 1, the owner told us that the store is now out of business and that she would send our backlogged payment as well as return any unsold stock. We havent heard anything since.
Question:
What recourse do we have to recover our lost revenue from this breach of contract?
1 Answer from Attorneys
I think the small claims court will be your best option for this. In WA, you can ask for up to $10K if you are suing as a natural person of $5K if suing as a business entity. This will depend on your contract with them.
