Legal Question in Business Law in Washington
towing
yesterday morning at 9:30 my manager put a notice on my car, and at 2:30pm the tow truck company was called to pick it up. i was on my way out when i saw it being towed, and was totally unaware there was even a notice on it. is 5 hrs enough time to leave a notice? I thought the alloted time was 24 hrs.

Re: towing
I am assuming you were illegally parked, or parked contrary to the property owner's rules. There is no legal requirement that owners of illegally parked cars receive a certain amount of notice before being towed. (For example, cars parked in the unload zone at the airport get 5-10 minutes notice.)
I am assuming this took place in your apartment complex where you live and the "manager" is your apartment manager (as opposed to your supervisor at work.) If there is a clause in your rental agreement requiring that you be given 24 hours notice before towing, or if there are signs posted, warning that you will get 24 hours notice, then you must be given notice. Otherwise, you are out of luck, I'm afraid.
There may well be a sign warning that towing of violators will occur "24 hours a day", which may have planted the subconscious idea in your mind that you had 24 hours grace.
