arrest warrants

I was away from my home one night and some plain clothed officers come and asked a freind if I was there because they had a warrant for me for a bail jumping he told them no after being there for a while my freind said that they entered my home thru my bedroom window is this legal

It depends on the authority given to the police by the warrant.
