Re: correct protocol for requesting court appointed atty
You cannot NOT afford an attorney. There is no way one can maintain an action in federal court without a great deal of experience and education in the rules of procedure. That is particularly true in the area of employment law. Consult a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association. Your bar association will provide referrals. Initial consultations are done at no cost. In many cases lawyers will take such cases on a contingent fee basis, meaning you will not have to pay unless you collect money. This is not do-it-yourself litigation. Get competent representation while you still have time.
