Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Washington

employment at will

I am going to quit my present job and

move on to another position. I am the

only employer Resident Manager at

homeowners Association .I signed a

contract 2000: ''Employment at

Will: Employment with condominum is

at-will. XYZ Condominium and its

employees are free to terminate the

employment relationship at any time,

with or without cause or advance notice

for any reason not prohibited by law.

This at-will employment relationship

cannot be altered, except by written

agreement signed by the XYZ

Condominium Board of Trustees.'' I

AM leaving..just not sure how to do this

correctly ...can they in any way stop me

(I have another job lined up). Is it my

right to leave any day I choose without

notice or any reason? I plan on giving

them 2 week notice because I want to

give them enough time to replace me &

smooth transition. How do I correctly

word a notice? I don't have to state any

reason if I understand the at-will law in

Wash. state. I'm thanking you in

advance for your answers. I'm taking

my entitled vacation to get married &

pres. of board is making difficulty,

having to continually change

honeymoon & wedding plans coming up

soon in December.

Re: employment at will

At will employment means both parties are free to terminate the relationship at anytime and for any reason (that is not legally prohibited), and may terminate without stating a reason.
