can one represent himself or herself

can one represent himself or herself in a civil action against the state he or she lives in? and if so can one bring in a first or second year law student to write the legal documents necessary to bring it to the states attention.

Yes in Washington state. Of course you can represent yourself.

Yes but the student can't give you any type of legal advice whatsoever.

Tell me a bit more, and I may have some more ideas. Why do you want to sue the state, and which state agency do you want to sue?
