Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Washington
If someone sold something of mine without permission and I have proof I purchased it, can I take it back from the person who purchased it (since the sale was not legal) without having to take any civil action? If I do have to bring suit, would I bring it against the seller or buyer?

If the person consents you can take it back, otherwise based on the facts provided I would not want to recommend self-help. If you sue, you should sue all parties in the transaction (seller(s) and buyer(s).
