Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Washington
Can a tenant sue with no written contract?
If one was to live with at tenant who is renting from a landlord and he has a written contract but you do not, can the tenant you're living with sue you? Can they sue you even though you don't know the landlord and he doesn't even know you're living there? If you had only a verbal agreement and barely one at that, and even with the tenant making up a good story and having witnesses saying you live there can the sueing process even take place?

Re: Can a tenant sue with no written contract?
Yes, anybody can sue anybody. Some parts of your factual statement seemed to contradict other parts of the statement. Verbal contracts are enforceable and the courts will look to the words said and mode of operation to show the contract. There are some exceptions to this general rule.
