Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Washington

Wedding Vendor

I put a deposit down on a wedding vendor about two weeks ago so that they could hold the spot for our wedding date. I did it over the phone and she told me that it would go to the wedding. So we had one meeting with her that lasted about 15 minutes and figured out that this place was a scam. So when I went to call they told me it was non-refundable. She did not tell me that and I did not recieve nor sign any paper work telling me that. Can I get my money back or should I just go through my bank to get a claim for services not recieved.

Re: Wedding Vendor

If you did this over the phone with a credit card, you can write to your credit card company and dispute the charge.

You can also file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Office, an arm of the Wash Attorney General's Office, for free.

Good luck!
