Legal Question in Technology Law in Washington

Internet e mail

situation: ex boss, it turns out, never changed her e mail password from the initial password/logon that was issued by company. The e mail is not internal, it is through an external web site. Her e mails prove her misconduct and the fact that I was terminated unfairly, but I'm unsure if these can be used because I'm unsure of whether I've actually ''hacked'' since her password was just never changed, and the e mail system isn't internal, but on a web site. Do you think her e mails are fair game since she didn't change the passwork and it's an internet site?

Re: Internet e mail

No. Reading her email without her permission was illegal. The fact that you knew how to do it is beside the point.
