Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Washington

Federal Subpoena for a civil lawsuit

In 2004 I was the company representative on a construction project in Washington state. The prime contractor is sueing my former employee. In November and December I was deposed for over 30 hours.

My former employer's attorney has e-mailed me that they wish to subpoena me for trail. I have relocated to Nebraska.

1. What are my legal obligations in informing them of my location so I can be served the subpoena?

2. What demands can I make regarding compensation for lost wages, child care (I am a single parent), travel expenses ect.?

Difficult to say. You should consult with a local attorney. As for making it worth your time to be a witness, I think that is very unlikely.

Best of luck,
