car buy

i bught a used car from a guy last year. when i looked at a ''carfax'' report it didnt have any discreptancies, but few months later i decited to trade it in the dealer looked up the history and found out there was a odometer discreptancy and i ended up getting half the amount of my trade in. my questions is that is there anything i can do to recover my loss?

As usual, it depends.

Did you purchase a report from Carfax? If so, I am fairly sure that their service comes with a guarantee that if there is an issue with the car that the report failed to pick up, that you are entitled to a benefit. I can't recall what that benefit is, but they guarantee the accuracy of their reports.

Go look at the report you purchased. See what it says. Go look at what the dealer used to determine the odometer had been rolled back.

In WA, odometer tampering is a crime.

I don't know about ND, and I can't tell where you are.
