Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington

Car being reposssed

I have a car loan which is due on the 15th of each month. I haven't been able tom make payments for Oct. & Nov. I called them yesterday to set up automatic payments, 1 for the 20th of dec, 1 for the 4th of Jan. They said that if I didn't have $733.00 by tomorrow they will start have my car repossed. I'm willing to make the payments & want to keep my car but there not working with me. If they do start the procedure how long does it take? If it takes a little while for them to take the car, and I come up with the money and pay it, and the repo process has started, will they let me make the payment and keep my car?

Re: Car being reposssed

Did they put that in writing? You can still finesse this situation because they would rather that you paid, even late, than forfeiting the contract, which is going to cost you a great deal of money.

Honestly, if they are being this demanding, the best referral I can give you would be to bankruptcy counsel. Take a look on avvo.com (a v v o) for someone close to you.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
