Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington

contract law

An air conditioning company is draging there feet and putting me off in getting out to start up a A/C system that I bought from them. If they keep draging there feet, and I have to hire another company to do what I paid this company to do, what can I do to them? Is a ''lien'' against there insurance bond an option? I've heard of contractors doing that to homeowners for payment. Would that cost me very much, if it is an option? Is there a better option?

Re: contract law

No, you can't lien services, if that is what you are asking.

You can hire another company to do the work and then sue the non-performing company for what you had to pay to cover their non performance.

Be sure to WRITE to the non performing company and give them a week at least to make good before you incur more expenses.

Ultimately a judge will determine whether you are being reasonable or not, so be reasonable.
