Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
Does my co-signer have to be on my auto title?
My sister is co-signing for an auto loan for me. Does she also have to be on the title?
The dealership tried to tell me that she also has to sign the purchase order. I feel like this is not necessary and would just make selling at a later time more difficult.

Re: Does my co-signer have to be on my auto title?
Your sister is doing you a huge favor by agreeing to co-sign for you. That places her squarely on the hook in the event that something unforseen happens and you are unable to make the payments on the car.
She should be on the title because you should not be able to sell the car without her OK. Think about it.
The purchase order is not the same as the agreement to pay the loan on the car. The dealer is trying to cover his bases to make sure your sister has equal access to the information you have regarding the car.
Hope this helps.
