elderly consumer taken advantage of
My elderly parents purchased 2 cords of firewood from local seller. They were shorted 1/2 cord & the wood is not seasoned as the seller's ad said. Seller won't call them back. What steps can we take?

People who sell wood are required to provide receipts at the time of sale, and to sell wood by the cord, accurately.
If your parents were taken advantage of, you should consider reporting this conduct to the Washington State Attorney General, Consumer Protection Division.
If other persons have similarly been taken advantage of by this seller, the AG will want to know. That doesn't mean the AG will file suit, necessarily.
However, Washington's Consumer Protection Statute also provides a remedy for persons like your parents. It is found at Title 19, Chapter 84.
Your parents also have a claim for damages (not getting what they bargained for) that they could pursue in small claims.
