Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington

online contract

If a contract signed online is canceled within 24 hours, can they refuse to do it? This is a credit card order made and canceled for show tickets. Was canceled on phone and online and in writing within 24 hours. Tickets have not been issued yet and won't be for several months. The credit card has only been okayed at this point. They refuse to cancel and credit it.

Re: online contract

There is no 24 hour right of recission of a contract in WA UNLESS it was a contract for products purchased in your home at your home. Hmm. Maybe it does qualify.

What you can do to help yourself is to print out the "fine print" of the contract you signed with the agency, and send a copy of it and the cancellation you wrote to the Attorney General and ask for their opinion.

You may be able to use Washington's three-day right of recission statute which is applicable to purchases made in your home.

You don't say where you were when you agreed, but I can infer you could have been doing this from your computer at home.

it's worth looking in to. Powell
