Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
I recently made a deal with a guy on my car forum to purchase his used big brake kit, however I didn't have all the money he wanted for them, so I offered to pay in installments over a 6 month period and a little extra money than he originally wanted, he quickly accepted the deal, so I sent a deposit of $300 to him through paypal about a week ago only to find out today that he turned around and sent the money back this morning, so my question is do I have any legal recourse what so ever?

Depending on the specifics you probably do. It sounds like a typical breach of contract type situation. For that to occur you must have a valid contract, and it must have been breached, and you must have suffered damages. I'm not going to write it all up for you here, but that is the gist of it.
The question becomes: is it worth it? Have you tried actually talking to the person to find out what the problem is? That might help. Small claims may be an option depending on where the other guy is located.
