Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
refunds
We had cancelled the demo and install portion of our floors. We kept the hardwwod floors instead. we wanted a refund of the on the instatll demo portion. After 2 weeks, the owner sent us a check that bounced. The owner has now sold his business but owns another under a different name. The last time we talked he agreed to sign a promissory note. I talked to him and he admitted that he was having financial difficulties, what are my options? It has been over 3 and half weeks and no refund in sight. Please, somebody help me get my refund back.

Re: refunds
You can take your matter to the AG/Pros. Atty because bouncing checks is a crime. Or you can file in small claims court. Yes, it's tedious but still a LOT faster than regular court, and don't forget to ask for treble damages pursuant to the Consumer Protection Act.
