Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
rental equipment security deposit
rented snowmobile in november with $750 deposit. Returned with minor damage, and understand I am responsible for repairs. But not anywhere near $750. Rental shop has informed me it still hasn't repaired, ordered part or even made an estimate of the damage. My question is simple, what is the legal alottment of time a business can withhold a deposit, in the state of Washington in pierce county. Thank you in advance for any light you are able to shed on the subject.

Re: rental equipment security deposit
It depends on what your contract says. You can certainly sue them in small claims for the return of your deposit less what you think they are entitled to withhold for damage.
Hope this helps. Powell
