Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
Seattle/King County/Washington state laws re: owning venemous reptiles
I have been considering owning a Gaboon viper. I understand the liability concerns, but don't know local or state law regarding ownership of venemous reptiles. Are there any state, county, or city laws regarding this? Thank you for your time.

Interesting question. You can research municipal, county and state law on line if you start from www access wa gov, which is the State homepage. King County is at www metrokc gov, an contains links to Seattle's ordinances. Look under animals. I do not recall the laws specifically addressing poisonous snakes, and they may well be considered exotic animals and I'm fairly sure that Seattle prohibits keeping exotics. You'll definitely want to look it up, as the liability concerns could be prohibitive.
