Legal Question in Consumer Law in Washington
Hello, My wife and I just spent 5hrs at a jeep dealership, We were their
to buy a jeep wrangler unlimited, 4dr model. We test drove one and told them
if we bought one it would have to be a color that they did not have on the lot.
But the would locate one, we stayed at the dealership for another hour and the
came out and said we found one, we settled on the price and signed all the paper
work and title and the payment agreement, An hour after we come home we got a
call from the dealer say they made a mistake, The jeep they located for us was
a 2dr not a 4dr, and they would have to have more money. What can we do.

Oddly, depending on the circumstances you might be in the right here. I say oddly because rarely in these deals is it actually the dealer in the wrong.
Their mistakes are not your problem. If you were both making a mistake, or if you knew they were making a mistake, then the contract may be voidable. However, if your price was something vaguely resembling fair (i.e. not a price where a decimal was placed in the wrong spot or something extreme), then they probably should be bound by the terms.
Practically, it's probably best to work something out as the price difference isn't going to be so high as to justify the delay in the transaction.
