Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington

Cleaning up credit

Is there any way to "encourage" my creditors to remove late payments information that they have reported, providing my account is current or paid off?

Some have one payment that was late from 3 years ago.

Also, how do remove non-relevant information from the credit report? ie...a traffic accident 4 years ago where doctors were paid late by the insurance company but it shows up on my credit report.

thanks.

I can't think of a way to force it.

But you could try asking nicely, begging, essentially.
