Re: collectios

Oh, dear. The ability to collect the 1998 hospital bill ended six years after you incurred the bill or quit making payments.

Whoever convinced you to start making payments "started the clock running" again. That's why after you made four payments they have now decided the debt is enforceable again.

You should go review www budhibbs dot com. Then you should use avvo to find a local attorney who really knows their way around consumer law.

I'm worried that you may have with all good faith launched a new battle that you would not have had to fight had you known your rights.

Please lawyer up. It may not be too late. I know you did not ask this, but the answer is - don't take legal advice from persons who are not lawyers, and never, ever, send money to a third party collector.

Hope this helps. Elizabeth Powell
