Co-Signor Responsibility for Traffic Infractions
I am a co-signor on my daughter's car. She has an illness for which she is now being treated, however prior to treatment she wracked up a parking ticket per day and driving without insurance (she has always had insurance). I understand I am stuck with the parking tickets, but am I also stuck for driving without insurance? I was not sent anything regarding notice of the offenses and did not attend the magistrate or court hearings regarding same so now they are all in collection - is there anything I can do?

Re: Co-Signor Responsibility for Traffic Infractions
As the co-signer on her car, you do not automatically assume liability for parking tickets. If you were not driving without insurance, then you are not the person being charged.
Your daughter's tickets are her problem and have nothing to do with your agreement with her lender.
Your daughter may be able to work out an agreement to pay her tickets, but her tickets aren't your responsibility.
