Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington
I have a lease of equipment and would like suggestions to get out of it legally
We leased equipment of about $12000. and the buyout is
about $17000. and they keep adding taxes, and insurance late charges. Normal payment is $456.month.
I have offered to return equipment and they said they would come after us for the balance after equip is sold by auction. They would also turn us in for bad debt and take us to court. I guess then the court could order wage garnishment, attach lien to other property, and reposess the equipment.
I would like to know just what options I would have.
Negoitations with the leasing company (WASHINGTON) has
resulted in no solution. Thank you and may you be blessed. billyray

Re: I have a lease of equipment and would like suggestions to get out of it lega
Are you in TX? Is the leasing co. in WA? If so, the leasing co. may be in violation of TX laws and may be in breach of their contract if it does not provide for taxes and interest. This could be in violation of TX credit laws and perhaps Federal credit laws. Contact me by e-mail if you want to discuss this further.
