Lien on property.

What is the proper procedure for

placing a lien on a property for unpaid

bills, in this case dues owed our

neighborhood water association?

This is a technical question that is way beyond the scope of this website. A lawyer would need to review the association's rules and the basis for the assertion of the right to a lien before doing anything.

If there is a proper basis for a lien, the technical details of filing a lien are governed by state and local rules.

It would be an alternative idea for the association to sue and get a judgment first.
