Medical Bill Liability

If a parent dies and leaves medical bills will adult children be liable?

Short answer: No. The duty to pay is with the parent's estate. If the estate is solvent, the bill will tun into a lien from the provider or DSHS and the estate can deal with it.

One cannot be obligated to pay the debts of a decedent without a writing.
