Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Washington
membership
We have a membership at a campsite that we puchased for 4,000.00. We were notified in Oct. that our membership was terminated for non-payment of membership fees. We had moved and were on vacation and totally forgot about the fees. We called immediatly after and were told that there was nothing they could do we had 15 days to sell our membership We told them that we would take the payment and late fees to them that day and still nothing. We never received and past due notices at all.
Only the phone call stating that our membership was over

Re: membership
I'd need to see the contract you signed with the campground and what you were purchasing. Sounds like a timeshare, which is a type of fee interest in real propery. No one can take away a fee interest from you without written notice and opportunity to cure.
Please find a local attorney who understands real property and consumer issues, and show them the paperwork you have for this property and ask them to give you an opinion. Something is not right about this situation. Elizabeth Powell
